Visit to Alumni Chapters in Southeast Asia

picmonkey-collageLast November, EWC External Affairs Director, Karen Knudsen and Alumni Coordinator, Noreen Tanouye visited 5 Alumni Chapters.  They visited Chapters in Kuala Lumpur, Yangon, Bangkok, Phnom Penh, and an alumni group in Brunei to potentially start a new chapter there.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei

brunei-alumni-groupRecent alumni from Brunei gathered at the Brunei Arts and Handicraft Centre on November 11, 2016.   The group discussed the idea of forming a new Chapter in Brunei.

Yangon, Myanmar

Bangkok, Thailand

EWCA Bangkok Chapter President, Dr. Naris Chaiyasoot (top photo on left) hosted an Aloha party for alumni on November 17, 2016 at Cloud 47 complete with flower leis and Hawaiian themed drinks and food.  Prof. Penny Weilbacher, EWCA Executive Board member is pictured in the photo on the bottom right (she is on the far right).

Phnom Penh, Cambodia

phnom-penhThe EWCA Phnom Penh Chapter met at Digby’s Restaurant on November 19, 2016.  Unfortunately, Chapter President, Mr. Sovath Bong was on travel and unable to attend.  They are motivated to increase their chapter membership and activities.
