On October 22, 2010 Dr. Dennis A. Ahlburg was inaugurated as the 18th president of Trinity University with students, faculty, staff, alumni, benefactors, and former colleagues taking part in an investiture ceremony in Laurie Auditorium at Trinity University. Ahlburg pledged to integrate the arts, humanities, sciences, and business practices into new ways of defining a liberal arts education in the 21st century.

Dr. Ahlburg (POP 95, 97) was a Research Fellow at the East-West Center Population Program during the 1990’s and he focused on the population impact on economic development and higher education. He is an internationally respected economist, who brings a fresh vision and energy to Trinity University, where he is focused on educating students for the increasingly connected world, and launching work on a strategic plan to guide curricular and programmatic elements of Trinity University during the next decade. A native of Australia, Ahlburg took office January 2010 following a national search for the new President of Trinity University.
