This 2009, the EWCA Philippines Chapter embarked on a joint project with the other Alumni associations in the Philippines. Last September 3rd, 2009 the EWCA Philippine (EWCAP) entered into a memorandum of agreement with the Fulbright Philippines Alumni Association, the Fulbright Agriculture Alumni Association of the Philippines, the Hubert Humphrey Alumni Association of the Philippines, and the International Visitors Program Alumni Association of the Philippines to provide assistance to the local government of Magdalena in Laguna, the Philippines.

The Alumni associations agreed to jointly provide assistance and capacity building to the local government in the areas of governance, education, health, culture and livelihood. Shown in the photo are the heads of the different Alumni associations together with the mayor of Magdalena, Laguna, Mayor David Aventurado and Dr. EC Cunanan, Executive Director of the Philiipine American Educational Foundation (PAEF). Also in the photo Representing the East-West Center Alummi Association Phillipines Chapter (EWCAAP) are its President Alex Brillantes Jr., Past President Senen Bacani, UH Alumni Association in the Philippines President Dr. Ramon Clarete, and Pauline Bautista, APLP alum and board member of EWCAAP.
