RSS stands for “Really Simple Syndication” and is a standard for publishing regular updates for web-based content. Using this standard, Web publishers, such as East-West Center, can provide updates.

It allows consumers to identify the content or “feeds” they want and have it delivered directly using RSS reader software or a number of online services. NewsGator, Bloglines, and the new RSS content capabilities in My Yahoo! are examples. Some feeds are even accessed using a newer browser, such as Firefox, Opera, or Safari, which have functionality to automatically pick up RSS feeds for you.
